I am sure many of you have received the news regarding the forthcoming change of
ownership of Callenberg Technology Group.
It was announced from the Oslo Stock Exchange on the 11th of August 2016, that
Wilhelmsen Maritime Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Wilh. Wilhelmsen Holding,
signed an agreement whereby technology subsidiary Callenberg Technology Group will be
acquired by Trident Maritime Systems. The sale is expected to close in the coming months.
The Wilhelmsen group strategy is to focus on its core shipping business. Thus, the search
for a new partner for its technology subsidiary Callenberg has been ongoing for some time.
With the decision to team up with Trident, both companies see a huge opportunity to
provide an expanded portfolio and an even stronger offer for Callenberg and Trident
customers in the future.
Trident Maritime Systems is a US based engineered solutions provider with a rich history
and strong reputation. Trident’s portfolio of companies includes expertise in marine
interiors, HVAC, fire suppression, electro-mechanical systems and automation & control
projects. As such, it is a natural fit with the Callenberg group of companies.
Upon completion of the transaction, the new business combination will form one of the
largest suppliers to the maritime industry within its field of expertise. The combined group
with its US headquarters will engage close to 2000 employees and contractors with
subsidiaries in 19 countries to serve customers worldwide.
Whilst Callenberg will transfer ownership and be part of a new team, our existing
customers, suppliers and external partners will continue to receive the same professional
service that they enjoy today. We will continue to strengthen our offer and focus on
delivering reliable and quality solutions within Insulation, HVAC and Electrical Energy
Management. Moreover, there will be no impact on existing business operations other than
future benefits of this business combination. On a practical note, company name,
registration numbers and existing points of contact within the organisation for now remain
the same.
